Intimacy Coordination/Choreography

I have been working in this field in both theatre and film for the last four years, and have attended multiple workshops and classes. My resume is on the bottom of this page.
When actors are comfortable and taken care of, you get the best results. I also get results that are repeatable and not dependent on “chemistry” or a “feeling in the moment.” In fact, this is dangerous because you’re asking actors to minimize the distance between themselves and the character. Working out and communicating choreography to actors in plain non-sexual language ensures that there’s never an uncomfortable moment where an actor is having to expose their own views or level of experience. They always feel protected and respected. I also create a culture of professionalism on set that seeps out in positive ways to all members of the crew. I work with directors to understand the beats of a scene and what needs to occur for the story to make sense. I then work with the actors to achieve this in the safest and most effective way possible. The work is rooted in boundaries, consent, making deliberate choices, and de-rolling. Intimacy Coordinators/Choreographers consult on scenes with loaded, heightened or charged content that might draw directly on an actor's identity. I am also a certified COVID Compliance Officer. |
